Okay let's start with prom. It seems like millions of light years away, right? But no, it was only like a month plus ago. I think I took more pictures on that day than the rest of my 16 odd years of life added up together. XD

Oh talking about singing, some GEPers formed a band and sang MayDay songs! And it's not just one, or two songs. They sang three songs, including a Hokkien song [
垃圾車]! Haha that's the highlight of the night, for me. :D

The very next day, after the collection of testimonials, me and Shuhui went Marina Bay together. Then we did an insane thing. Unable to find a dry patch of grass similar to the green plains on the album cover of 無與倫比的美麗, we did the next best thing - alighted at a deserted bus stop and blast

人生海海 cds from a portable media player while cars zoomed past us and their owners stared at us openly. [Plus THAT 400 bus. I think the bust driver must'ave thought we were friggin' insane. XD After a few rounds he simply drove past us without stopping for us anymore.] We were kinda paiseh at first, but after a while we stopped caring. :) [唱著 F.I.R 和蘇打綠的

Even though I still miss my shows [SCV sigh!], I'm beginning to appreciate the shows here. I enjoy keeping a tab on the charts [Channel N (13), Educational Channel (3), Kiddie Channel (14)], watching MVs on 星當家 (Channel N) and concerts [Channel N and Channel 藝 (11)]. Happy Time has been a major let down so far. Where's the dynamic partnership between 貝貝 李強? Where's 小瘋? [He appeared on 超級音樂通 though, cool guy.] 快樂大本營 is still up and running, thank God. I like the variety show, it's hilarious! I like 何炯 and his fellow members of the 快樂家族.
Anyway, saw MayDay MVs [牙關！知足！] on countless occasions. They were featured in one episode of 星當家 - 私房歌 [where they introduced the songs they (Ashin only, actually) have written for other artistes. And surprise surprise! Jolin's one of them. 0.0 Okay I can understand why LeeHom's name is there, but Jolin. Heh.], and 抓狂/三個心願 were on the charts in November. 年輕就對味 is played every time the commercial comes on. =.=
動感101 loves MayDay, I think. I heard 戀愛ING, 私奔到月球, 倔強 and 恆星的恆心 twice each. F.I.R's 三個心願、彩色拼圖、記得愛、月牙灣 are played repeatedly. Today, they actually showed an hour of Cheer 陳綺貞's A Piece of Summer concert on 超級盛典 (Channel 藝)！[The previous week was Wilber Pan's concert.] On 麥克風 (Channel N), they played clips of GCMA's 榜中榜, so F.I.R was one of the featured artistes [duh]. Flight Tribe! Eeeha.

I hate dilemmas. Especially when both options seem equally tempting. :( I want to see the trio, but I wanna stay and watch TV too! (Of course, to keep the old folks company as well...] Now, it all comes back to how much I love the threesome.
[Now I am very convinced that there are loads of MayDay fans in Shanghai. I saw them again on TV zomg. They appeared on 東方新人 (Channel N again :D), all donning red. It was during the Final Home era I think, and the host claimed it to be the episode with the most number of people turning up voluntarily for the filming. The episode is now ranked as the 4th most memorable episode in the history of 東方新人.]
I managed to catch a few episodes of 轉角遇到愛 and 巴黎戀人 a few days back. But I would prefer to watch My Lucky Star (放羊的星星) which is rather interesting. Oh wait. I'm supposed to be anti-idol dramas. [I despise the radio stations here, even though they love MayDay and F.I.R and Sodagreen (小情歌！漂浮！), very apparently. They are playing 需要你的愛 on 動感101 now! 飛X信! 像掉進了深海；也像墜落懸崖 See? They love F.I.R. But. The stations here play freaking mainland music! And I really don't care much about 内地 music. Hehh.]

Shanghai Bund.
新上海灘. How should I say... I'm touched beyond words by the brotherhood, the friendships, the 'lationships. Even though many say that this 2007 version is nowhere as great as the 1980 original, I think naught. To be fair, I watched both versions, the new followed by the old. But I still like the new one more. Perhaps I am a superficial person to like Huang Xiao Ming more than the old Fa guy, but that's me. At least I like Xu Wen Qiang, the protagonist and the tragic hero of the story, and not Feng Jing Yao (as I thought I would XD). THAT alone means something! :D

Somebody actually called in and wished Monster happy birthday! And on Ashin's birthday, a fan smsed to the station to wish 雨男 happy birthday. It was raining on that day. (: Great fans they have in Shanghai, huh.
Sidetrack: I think actors are sad people. I mean, who else has to sacrifice their health for their job? For other people's pleasure? WTH is this. Okay maybe I'm overreacting, but I hate hate hate to see HXM, a non-smoker as I've learnt, inhaling those poisonous fumes. It makes me mad. It disgusts me, y'know? 他們也只是相混口飯吃，讓他們配上自己的健康，公平嗎？He's only 30, 'ello? If he were to get addicted to smoking, whose fault would it be? What kind of crap is this. 無謂的犧牲…無謂的付出。
Okay let's get back to the show. The truth is, the whole QG and CC's 'lationship thing is dragging a tad too long. Even though I hate Fang for causing all the misunderstandings and creating friction between QG and CC, her addiction to drugs a still a shock to me. Ultimately, she's a good person, so why does she have to suffer so much. :(

新上海灘 - 許文強傳奇的一生
I hate tragic endings! I hate the empty feeling when a nice show ends. Oh wait. Actually, I prefer tragedies to happy endings. I like to mull over the show, trying to remember every single detail, taking in the scenes bit by bit, smiling secretly to myself at the funny parts, bawling my eyes out at the touching bits. BUT WHY IS THE ENDING OF NEW SHANGHAI BUND SO DAMN TRAGIC!!! Zzz. Y'know how many pieces of tissue paper I've exhausted just for the last 10 minutes of the show? All the trees that died together with QG! Sigh. Life is so unfair to him. Or maybe perfect people are meant to die early and lead a miserable life while they are alive.
My track record is looking increasingly bad... Snape, Agent Smith, Neo, Zaizen, Zhong Zong, Hei (Confession of Pain XD), L, all the WXB characters, and now: QG! I'll DREAD to see another casualty. :(
But all's not lost. HXM is still alive and jumpin', hehh. That's what's important, right! Of course, I'll mourn for Snape and QG, such heroic people. Still, HXM is our 教主, yeah?

Whatever it is, the New Shanghai Bund is super 感人. (: It's showing on 5 channels?! Hard to miss, huh. That explains why I watch 10hrs of TV everyday... XD Some channels are actually releasing 6 episodes at one go.
I just realized that I saw HXM on 東方新人 even before I started watching Shanghai Bund! The episode he came on just made it to the 10 Most Memorable Episodes (in the history of 東方新人) list. [MayDay was 4th, as I said earlier. XD] It was the first time he sang in public! WOW. (To know that his first solo album is releasing on the 12th of Dec.. 0.0)

I agree that many-a-time actors and actresses have to pick up a new skill to fit their role better. Most times, it's good. I mean learning how to, say, dance or ride a horse is pretty cool. But fancy learning how to smoke!! Like WTF. It's going to destroy his health! 越想越氣ORZ.
好郁悶喔，爲什麽許文強要死？爲什麽她不能和程程 happily ever after? [永遠有多遠；我心已疲倦] 看來永遠並不是大家所想象的，直到海枯石爛爲止。煽淚的戯…最後幾集真的是要了我的命。-淚奔- 可憐的強哥。可憐的程程。可憐的方艷芸。悲劇啊。我想程程以後去儅修女好了，因爲他怎麽可能和一個親手把自己最愛的人殺掉的人活在一起？活著，是煎熬；死了，是解脫。很喜歡文強對程程的告白，雖然當時覺得蠻煽情的，可是到了最後才發現一切只不過是他們倆的美好願望罷了，一個永遠不能實現的夢想。
這部戯裏，我最不能了解的，恐怕是丁力。口口聲聲叫許文強‘強哥’，卻絲毫沒什麽長進，劇開始的時候傻得可愛，可是到了最後愈來愈殘忍，不用腦做事。也許那次強哥真的去廣州比較好，管他什麽丁力，這樣程程也不會這麽痛苦。-哭- 更希望許文強臨走前能說一句話，不然又草草瞭事的感覺。ORZ.

Two days ago, I actually saw HXM on wobao.sg. Weird, right! Still, exposure is always a good thing, one of the few things I've learnt from the industry. And ZOMG are you kiddin' me he can sing? Meh. His album (Note: album, not single) is going to be out soon. =.= 人心不足蛇吞象？Or multi-talented, all-rounded? I have absolutely no idea.
Anyway, the show's getting more and more friggin' depressing. :( -飆淚ING- And shit, I'm beginning to mix up 'reelity' and 'reality' So what if it's REEL? It's still affecting me as if it's for REAL. [Sorry Achin, for using your name so casually. Hehh. I wonder how are you guys?] 好啦，都要回去了。教主…猴年馬月見！
“不要再叫我強哥了，丁先生。” Haha. I find this dialogue amusing. Perhaps I'm just trying to find that little bit of amusement out of the otherwise terribly heart wrenching, gut depressing episodes. Sigh at this rate they're going... I'm gonna finish another box of tissue. Poor trees. :(
Oh during one of those rare commercial breaks, I switched to Channel N, which was showing InMV, and I saw the We Are Ready 2008 Olympic Countdown song. Guess what, I saw AND heard HXM as well as WXB (I think). Like COOLness? [I simply detest all the bands and groups in China. Sucks. Bobo is disgusting (What kind of name is this?!), so is 兄弟聯 and 花兒. Yucks yucks.]

This is probably my last entry before my flight back to Singapore. Yesterday, Xue Yuan, Fish and I took a 'Long March' around Shanghai. T'was pretty fun, I guess. Out of the three days I went out with my friends, this is easily the most memorable. We met some really interesting peeps, some of them better defined as 'freaky', others plain hilarious. [Damn those 3 old women trying to lure us into their den. Like WTH. Luckily we managed to escape... Hanzel and Gretel, anyone?]
I took 518 to 人民廣場, then switched to the MRT to get to 東昌路. And surprise? The mobile TV was actually showing
晴天日記 with HXM as the lead. On and off, I saw it at least 3 times. 0.0 But What's with his shades, man? He looked like a carbon copy of Rain, shucks. (I HATE RAIN =.= Not 雨男, but the Korean guy.] Still, I'm glad his soon-to-be-out album is getting enough coverage and advertising. Apparently, his My Girl (the one he sang during the Live Earth concert) is up on the Edu Channel charts already. Too bad I'm gonna miss the release, as usual. Pooft. [Then why is there a nagging feeling of apprehension in me about the release of the album?!]
We ran to XueYuan's house from the MRT station. [Thanks XY, for asking me to run with my layers of insulated clothing in WINTER, and getting stares for complying. -.-] Hang around her house for a while, then had a lunch @ 800 1/2 that consisted of pizzas and spaghettis. After that we WALKED to the jetty near the 江 to baidu over. (Not the website, hah) WALKED to 城隍廟. WALKED from the Miao to the Bund (外灘). WALKED from there to Raffles City. From there to 人民公園. SWING! (Fish and Victor's Back to Love was clearly audible, so was A-yue's 思念是一種病 [The huge LCD screen hanging on the outer walls of Raffles City was set at Channel V (China).] Tried looking for a 小店 to settle our dinner, but ended up near 光明中學。 Ate spicy Yong Tau Fu. Went back to 南京路. WALKED along 南京路步行街. Reached the Bund again. =.= WALKED along the Bund. Me went searching for a direct bus home, but almost lost my way in the maze-like streets of Shanghai. When I finally reached home, it was 8.30. Sounds like no big deal right? But the sun sets around 5 in China, so by 6 it should be dark. Pitch dark. Starless. Heh.
Apparently, Achin didn't turn up for the a/s in S'pore. Whew. A little bit of comfort for me, at least.
What I've done:
Watched Wilber and Cheer's concerts [as I previously mentioned], AMei + Stef Sun + Jolin, and Shin Band + Jay Chou + JJ Lin's concert clips. Kind of finished 新上海灘 and rewatched some really nice scenes. :D
And it's insanely weird: Last year when I was in China, I caught the drama (立案偵查) I watched (and adored) when I was in China back in 2004. This time, again, I chanced upon the drama (垂直打擊) I watched (and liked) last year in China. And the strange coincidence is: The director of 垂直打擊 also directed 新上海灘. Wow.
OKAY! THE END! ALL (except one) ENTRIES ARE PAINSTAKINGLY TYPED OUT FROM MY LITTL' BLACK NOTEBOOK. (As for the missing entry, I'll fill it in on another day. It's really long.)
